Windows Shortcuts
- [shift]-{click} "OK"
- When ready to shutdown: Start/ShutDown/Reboot
- this will perform a warm-boot, which is quicker than a cold boot
- [Shift] while inserting CD-ROM
- This will bypass AutoPlay when you insert a CD (compact disc)
- Start Windows in Safe Mode
- Win95, Win98, Win98SE, WinME, Win2000, WinXP
- When the computer is first started, press [F8] when you see 'Starting Windows ...' (or hold down the [CTRL] key)

- Create your own Shortcuts:
- Start Windows Explorer
- Highlight a program or file
- Create a shortcut
- File/CreateShortcut
- or: [Ctrl]-[Shift] while dragging the file
- Right-click the shortcut and choose 'Properties'
- in the 'Shortcut key;' field:
- enter a unique key-combination
- e.g. if you press Ctrl-Shift-Q
windows will translate this to 'Ctrl + Shift + Q'
- Click OK
- Try out your new shortcut!
- to Select (highlight)
- Text:
- {Drag} your mouse over the text you want to select
- or, {click} the beginning of the text you want to select, then [Shift]-{click} the end of the text
- Files (in Windows Explorer)
- {click} the 1st file you want to select, then [Shift]-{click} the last file
- or, to only select a few files in a folder:
- {click} the 1st file, then [Ctrl]-{click} the other files
- Text:
- Put the Control Panel, or other system folders, on your StartMenu
- Follow the instructions from Chami or WindowsGalore.
